The ten Day Masters
Your Day Master (日主) is the Heavenly Stem of the day you were born. It is the "you" at the centre of a BaZi chart — the lens through which every other part of the chart is read. There are ten: the five elements, each in a Yang and a Yin form.
Upright, principled, built to grow.
乙The VineYin Wood · YǐGraceful, adaptable, quietly persistent.
丙The SunYang Fire · BǐngWarm, generous, impossible to ignore.
丁The CandleYin Fire · DīngPerceptive, focused, quietly inspiring.
戊The MountainYang Earth · WùSteady, dependable, hard to move.
己The GardenYin Earth · JǐNurturing, practical, resourceful.
庚The SwordYang Metal · GēngDecisive, direct, fiercely fair.
辛The JewelYin Metal · XīnRefined, discerning, quietly brilliant.
壬The OceanYang Water · RénExpansive, curious, unstoppable.
癸The RainYin Water · GuǐIntuitive, empathetic, quietly influential.
Yang and Yin
Yang stems are the element at scale — the tall tree, the sun, the mountain, raw ore, the ocean. Yin stems are the same element at human scale — the vine, the candle, garden soil, a cut gem, the rain. Neither is stronger; they are two ways of expressing the same nature.
Your Day Master is only the beginning. How strong it is, which elements surround it and how the four pillars interact are what make a chart personal — and that is what FateBook calculates for you.
