The Ten Gods

"Ten Gods" (十神) is the traditional name for ten roles. Each element in your chart plays one of them relative to your Day Master, depending on whether it supports you, drains you, is acted on by you, controls you or matches you — and on whether its polarity matches yours.

The Companion比肩 · Friend

Independence, self-trust and peers.

The Competitor劫财 · Rob Wealth

Drive, boldness and rivalry.

The Artist食神 · Eating God

Creativity, ease and enjoyment.

The Rebel伤官 · Hurting Officer

Expression, originality and questioning rules.

The Dealmaker偏财 · Indirect Wealth

Opportunity, generosity and networks.

The Steward正财 · Direct Wealth

Steady effort, practicality and responsibility.

The Warrior七杀 · Seven Killings

Courage, pressure and decisive action.

The Guardian正官 · Direct Officer

Structure, duty and reputation.

The Mystic偏印 · Indirect Resource

Intuition and unconventional learning.

The Mentor正印 · Direct Resource

Support, learning and care.

Why FateBook renames them

Classical translations like "Hurting Officer" or "Seven Killings" sound alarming and tell a modern reader nothing. The Rebel and the Warrior describe the same energies — originality that questions rules, courage under pressure — without the melodrama. The Chinese names are always shown alongside.

How to read them

The Ten Gods that appear most in your chart are your loudest patterns. Lots of Artist and Rebel: expression and creativity. Lots of Steward and Dealmaker: practicality and opportunity. Lots of Guardian and Warrior: structure, duty, pressure. Your chart page lists your strongest three.
